The one theorem to bind them all?

 The 8-Conic Theorem

The author's name appears in the top row of the New York Times Connections puzzle 828 that appeared in 16th September 2025. The Oxford theoretical physicist and Nobel prizewinner, Sir Roger Penrose, discovered the theorem as an undergraduate, gave a seminar talk about it, but never published it.

Here are some of the many theorems from the annals of Geometry that are consequences of Penrose's theorem:

  • Pappus's theorem
  • Desargues's theorem
  • Pascal's theorem
  • Brianchon's theorem
  • Monge's theorem
  • Poncelet’s theorem
  • Neville's theorem
